This project explores how different materials and chemical designs affect the performance of thin-film composite membranes used to filter dyes and salts from wastewater. By tuning the supporting layer and the building blocks of the membrane, we created a design that achieved higher water flow and better separation efficiency. The results help advance more sustainable and cost-effective water purification technologies.
This study focuses on developing advanced nanofiltration membranes that can efficiently separate dyes and salts from industrial wastewater. By experimenting with different amine building blocks—each with unique molecular shapes—the team created membranes with improved performance and chlorine resistance. These findings contribute to more durable and sustainable water treatment technologies, helping industries recycle both water and valuable dyes while reducing environmental impact.
